When I was 20 I got to celebrate my birthday in Hefei, China after having taught English for four months there. The semester before that I taught in Russia. Those experiences shaped my life and helped me discover my passion for traveling, languages, and teaching.
I have traveled to Italy, Finland, Sweden and also lived in Taiwan (for my mission) and New York City. I landed here in Gilbert, AZ and love it, but I am still working towards my goal of visiting every continent before I die.
Another goal of mine is to speak five languages fluently. I currently speak Mandarin Chinese and of course English, but I am working on Sign Language and Spanish. Not sure what my fifth language will be yet, maybe you can teach me?
I have recently discovered a passion for running. I have run the St. George marathon and the Utah Valley half marathon and have plans for my next half and full. I love the challenge of running and how it pushes me to my limits.
While running is a recent passion of mine, the things that have always been there for me are my family and my faith. My siblings are my best friends and I adore all ten of my niece and nephews. I try to spend as much time with them as I can. My faith is essential to my life and guides me in the choices I make.
