I've lived on both coasts, traveled the world, but my new motto is "Simplify." I keep the load light and eliminate the "baggage." For the previous four years, I've lived a simple life in rural Utah. Prior to that I worked for 11 years doing international training for American Express Travel, mostly based in Australia, New Zealand, and United Kingdom. Before that I was in international pharmaceutical marketing and product development.

I have dated a little, but where I lived in Utah, there weren't a lot of single ladies so not much dating. My two daughters live in Arizona, both are now married, and my son is in the Navy in South Carolina. I enjoyed my job as an adult educator at Central Utah Correctional Facility but now I write full time, working as a freelance writer for advertising agencies.

I like to work hard and play hard, too. This spring I moved to Maricopa, Arizona where I bought a second house then decided to make it my first one! My favorite weekend activity is usually day trips around the state. I'd like to meet my sweetheart - a woman who doesn't act her age, and who likes to try new things and enjoys new adventures.

I admire those who form their own opinions and stand by them. I suppose it is unusual to appreciate independence in a woman, but I always have. I believe I can appreciate that because I am not an arguer; I am a discusser. No one wins a heated argument. I form strong opinions, too, but that are what they are—just observations and opinions.

Relationships should be equal partnerships and the best ones are always that. The one in charge is the one couple. For many, that goes against the grain of beliefs that the man should run the roost. That was never me and it was never the example I saw of truly successful relationships.

I have traveled a lot and love it. I have been to somewhere between 25 and 30 countries and all the states and territories except Guam and Samoa. My favorites are the islands simply because they are harder to get to, more isolated, and each one is unique in both flora and fauna. Islands fascinate me.

I enjoy my own company and often travel and do things alone because not to do so would be such a waste. I prefer sharing those experiences with someone I love and hope someday that will be the case.
