I have a particular fondness for taking leisurely strolls in the company of friends, romantic interests or even perfect strangers, as long as the conversation is engaging, I could walk for hours. Art galleries and museums are always enjoyable but nothing beats the outdoors, from the fresh air in a mountain breeze while hiking a trail, to the squish of sand between the toes along a beach. Having a companion to share the journey with makes the experience that much richer and sweeter. After all, what’s the point in discovering all the beauty of the Earth without someone there to appreciate it with you?
My greatest passion is for performing arts, anything that exhibits talent, from musicals, ballets or concerts to symphonies, contests or even just a movie, but nothing R-rated. Its inspiring to experience the variety of talents with which Heavenly Father has blessed his children. Above all art forms, by far my favorite is Opera, to hear the pitch perfect sound of someone in full control of their voice is breathtaking. Opera singers demonstrate the highest heights and lowest extremes of the human vocal range. Music like this is so powerful that you can feel it move right through you. I have recently been studying Italian so that I can better understand some of the greatest and most famous Operas. My plan is to reward myself with a trip to Italy when I can get proficient enough with the language to speak it fluently.
Health and Fitness is another great passion of mine. I’ve always enjoyed distance running, completing my first full marathon in 2004. Overall I have run a total of three marathons and plan to run at least one a year for the rest of my life. Nothing beats the energy you feel when you catch another wind or break through another wall along the course. The scenery on some of these marathons can be absolutely amazing to take in sometimes. Most of all I love the exhilaration you feel crossing the finish line after that 26th mile. I hit the gym 4-6 times a week, typically around 5am. My dad taught me in my youth “Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man, healthy, wealthy and wise”.
Lastly and above all, the gospel is the chief cornerstone in my life. Your testimony of the gospel is a deal breaker if it’s not strong. I am looking for a spouse that is capable and devoted to going through the temple together, can enjoy full fellowship serving side by side in the church and later serve missions with when we grow old. I know Heavenly Father has a path whereby all his children can achieve happiness not just in the next life but in this life as well.
