While driving my sister's sweet family minivan to take my nephews out on a date, nephew: "Do you know how to drive...how old are you??" ... "Um I've been driving longer than you've been alive!" ... nephew: "But, how old are you??" ... "I'm 31 years old!" ... nephew: "What?? I thought you were like 18 years old! Why aren't you married by now??"
In kid speak what he really means: 'Aunt Amanda, I think you are talented, kind, and beautiful. I am shocked that no one has snatched you up by now! I falsely assumed you must have been too young to engage in the institution of marriage. But don't worry, your time will come!' (I'm glad he is so insightful otherwise I might have a complex of being old!)
I studied Sociology and Counseling, and work as a Counselor at a Residential Psychiatric Treatment Center for teenagers. I'm not a huge fan of long distance relationships because I love my life and career in Spokane, as well as the support of family nearby and hope to stay in the area. I am definitely an introvert and listen more than I talk - which lends well for my work. I feel most comfortable in small groups and tend to shy away from large group activities as they don't seem to offer the emotional connection and remain instead on the surface, superficial level. You should know that my coworker once voted me the nicest person he knows, unfortunately I've since been demoted to #3 because of some sarcastic and snarky comments that snuck out. To be fair, I'm not sure if he just doesn't know many nice people or if I'm really that nice.
I love writing, being creative and crafty, and spending time with my family. I really love playing sports and would love to find a great teammate (literally and figuratively) :) Is that you?? Lastly, I work with a bunch of old married folks who have no better way to spend their time than discuss my love life, which they've titled: MAN QUEST. (truth). It'd be nice to give a positive update [insert tv announcer voice for dramatic effect] "next time..on..MAN QUEST!" Have a great day and I'd love to hear from you :)
