Hi! My name is Ken and I am a single guy living in beautiful Southern Oregon. I have lived here for about 12 years.
I graduated from Brigham Young University in 1994 (Go Cougs!). I loved my time at BYU and enjoy visiting when I can (which, unfortunately, hasn't been often). I love Utah, especially the mountains, up in the Provo Canyon area. I am great with social sciences, but lousy in math and sciences that involve math. I also have a creative side (I was a photography major for a year) and also am a pretty good technical writer.
I love the gospel, but I still have my challenges. I have been active all my life, but have had periods of active inactivity (I was just going through the motions). Until a year ago, I served as the single adult rep for my stake (8 years). I currently serve as the ward librarian (I love this calling. I get to talk to everyone in the ward, but make no critical decisions. After my last calling, this is nice.). Activity in the Church is very important to me. I want someone who I feel like we will encourage each other in living the gospel.
I love photography (my biggest, and most expensive, hobby), camping, movies and a variety of other activities (see my interests). I do portrait photography primarily, but enjoy shooting waterfalls and other artistic photography too. I do several portraiture shoots each year, but not as much as I would like and I only do it only as a hobby now (I used to want to do it as a profession). I am a BYU Football NUT! I am so happy that I can watch EVERY game now. The last couple of years I have also really gotten into BYU Women's Soccer. I love sports, watching mostly, and playing some. I have learned lately to enjoy exercise, but like to have someone to do it with, which helps motivate me. My increased interest in exercise has come as part of a major weight loss campaign (I have lost more than 50 pounds over the last year. I am very proud of that.).
I grew up with cats, so as soon as I bought my home, I got a cat. My current feline friend is cute, gray, female and a sweetheart. I am not much of a multiple cat person, though. Two is kind of where I max out.
I like the things most guys like (I drive a truck, like sports, etc), but I also have a a sensitive side. My movies collection ranges all over the place, from Classics, drama, animated, to comedy, scifi, fantasy (I have the extended versions of Lord of the Rings) all the way to romance (if you can't handle that I like "Pride and Prejudice," I'm not the guy for you.). I don't really like action through (like Van Damme movies).
I am very politically aware and am opinionated in that regard. I am conservative and am a strong supporter of Mitt Romney and other conservative candidates and causes. If you have liberal leanings, I'm sorry, but I'm not the guy for you.
I can be a fairly social person, but when it comes to talking to a woman I am interested in, I tend to clam up...which largely explains why I am on this site. OK, lets go!
