Ok, so what can I say in less than 5000 characters to convince you to send me a message?
I have been told that am not the "typical Utah girl". I take this as a huge compliment. I'm not sure exactly sure what a "typical Utah girl" is but I think it has something to do with the fact that I don't rat my hair or wear bedazzled jeans. :) I am also definitely not a hipster. I am pretty down to earth and easy going, that being said, I'm not afraid to speak up or express my opinions.
I grew up in Provo and come from a long line of cougars, I graduated from the U of U, and currently work at USU, so when it comes to Utah collegiate athletics I can align my loyalties wherever necessary ☺
I attended grad school in Los Angeles and then moved to South Dakota for my first real job. I didn’t know a single soul and it was terrifying. Looking back, I kind of can't believe I actually did that. I think it was a combo of being determined, naive, and stupid. It was a great learning opportunity for me. After a miracle and lots of prayers on my behalf from my family, I was offered a position last fall at USU and I jumped at the chance to return to the mountains and four seasons of Utah.
I love to snow ski but only on days that it is sunny, not when it is snowing sideways. I love going to movies, plays, and concerts but am equally happy at a baseball/basketball/football game eating a hot dog (the hot dog is important).
I'm not the most coordinated or athletic person in the world but I do enjoy playing tennis and being outside when the weather is nice. I like camping but only for a night or two, my bed is more comfortable :)
I grew up boating, my dad loves boats. We would go to Lake Powell and Fish Lake. I really like to fish as long as I don't have to touch the bait or the fish :)
When it comes to friendships I value quality over quantity. I have my close friends and am fiercely loyal to them.
I used to run. I did a marathon, several half marathons, and a few Ragnars. I am taking a hiatus right now but it is quickly turning into a full retirement. I have replaced running with Zumba. I view it as the perfect combination of exercise and public humiliation ☺
I live my life by two mottos: pick your battles and work hard, play hard. I use both to find balance.
I have a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and love the temple. I am active in my ward, have a calling, and try to better myself everyday.
If there is anything else you want to know, just ask! Or creepily look at my profile several times and not say anything, whatever works for you :)
