Hello - my name is Ken and I grew up in the church. I have a firm testimony in the gospel and I'm looking to improve my life. Currently I live in a small town (Pahrump, Nevada) where there aren't many singles my age (I'm the only only between 31 and 60 that attends any activities) so I'm looking to find some friends and maybe something more. I've been out of the dating scene for 15 years (since my divorce) so I'm a little rusty when it comes to meeting new people. I recently started Candid Photography and really enjoy it even though it hasn't benefit me financially.
Although I love the outdoors, I don't get to experience it much. I like to go camping but I also enjoy road trips and visits to different places, especially places I haven't been to yet. I have what some would call an unhealthy obsession with natural disasters. I'm totally fascinated by the forces of nature and when disasters strike, my attention is almost completely absorbed by it. I don't like it when people are hurt or property destroyed, but aside from that it captivates me! I'm not much of a reader but most guys aren't, I suppose. But I've been known to enjoy a book or two. At least I can say I read the Harry Potter series as well as The Work and the Glory, Kingdom and the Crown, and the entire Standard Works of the Church! A day of work and then a nice shower and relaxed evening is always enjoyable, especially when there's someone there to talk with. I enjoy movies and television but a lot of it depends on the program and content. As for sports... well... you won't see me wearing a jersey and yelling at the television, but I don't mind watching a game with friends. My music taste covers a wide range and it depends on the song itself. I've liked music anywhere from classical, to jazz, oldies, Classic Country and Rock, Disco, Soul, Top 40, R&B, Hip Hop, and yes... even a couple songs performed by the Spice Girls. I DON'T like the music today where it's basically nothing but screaming and swearing into a microphone, nor do I like "gangsta rap." This might be a deal breaker for some, but those are two genres I will not allow in my home!
Anywho... keep looking for me. I'm out there in cyber space and maybe one day I'll be able to renew my subscription here for a month or so.
