Hi, I love life and I am an incurable optimist. My life centers around the Lord, my family, the gospel, and work; with the Lord first, then my family being by far the most important parts. We are a close family. My kids are each other's best friends and enjoy hanging around together. I enjoy playing card and board games. We do that a lot as a family.
I do not watch much TV, although I do enjoy a good, wholesome video now and then. I am thrifty with money and follow the Lord's council to get out of debt and stay out of debt, so I own my own home and have some put away for retirement. I am an effective and efficient homemaker, and I am very organized. I have had to be as a single parent with 7 kids! I have five biological children and I adopted two through the foster care program. I love children and can relate well to them.
I have a strong testimony of the gospel and I feel the healing power and strength the atonement has brought into my life. I am planning on going on a mission after I retire. I love to attend church and the temple. I get a lot of strength from those. I believe strongly in the power of daily family and individual scripture study and prayers. It makes a huge difference in daily living. We also hold FHE every week. My children that live nearby come home on Sunday evenings for that.
I enjoy staying in shape by exercising and doing aerobics. I love yard work, gardening, sewing, reading, camping, hiking, and swimming. I have an acre lot, a large garden, and fruit trees. So, I do a lot of canning.
I am an Elementary School Counselor and love helping children solve problems and learn to get along. I have a job that allowed me to be home with my children after school, weekends, and summers, which is extremely important to me. I enjoyed supporting them in their extracurricular activities. All five of my boys are Eagle Scouts.
I was born and raised in the Houston, Texas area and all of my extended family currently lives in Nacogdoches, Texas. I also spent many years in Vernal, Utah. I moved to Idaho 11 years ago when I started my current job. I have no ties to Idaho, although I do love the people here. I am open to the idea of relocating.
