My goodness, how does one start such a paragraph? First I should say that I am a country girl stuck in the city. I have no idea why the Lord thinks He needs me back down in the desert, but based on the job I am currently doing I can prove that He does have a great sense of humor.
After the typical years of raising a family I was blessed with the opportunity to live deep in the Gila Forest, off the grid in a remodeled hundred-year-old-plus homesteader's log cabin on 120 acres for over 10 years. Not only was I blessed with the incredible peace, solitude and abundant wildlife, the experience taught me the valuable lessons around self-sufficiency and preparedness, and more importantly what is truly important in this life. Tell me what woman you know that would be thrilled to acquire a wringer washer. The slower pace and daily chores taught incredible lessons. As solar was added, daily life became easier but did not interfere with the quiet pleasures. The closeness of this Mormon founded community developed cooperation and friendships that are rarely found in the distractions of the city.
I still have my saddle, spurs and hat just waiting for the day that I can once again enjoy the pleasures of my own horse and the wide open spaces. Do you understand the emotional satisfaction of riding your horse (not only for work) but into the sunset or under a full moon? If you do, give me a call. We might just have something to share.
As you might have surmised, I am not the typical women......you won't find me wandering a mall......and small talk bores me to tears. An avid reader of mysteries, biographies, historical novels, I thrive on deep conversation on many subjects from current events, politics, religion, physics, genealogy, you name it. I love to learn. I love to be engaged with my partner, sharing his interest as he shares mine.
Growing up with a father who was a master carpenter I learned the satisfaction that comes from working with my hands. Whether remodeling the house, refinishing a piece of furniture or growing a garden, the satisfaction of a job well done is itself the reward. I want to be engaged in life working beside my partner as a team, sharing together the activities of everyday life. Whether serving a church mission, building a business or maybe just enjoying retirement, the simple pleasures of a sunset, dancing, a dinner out, holding hands, sitting around a fire, soaking in the hot tub or just walking the dog are all examples of what brings me peace. Or maybe going to the rod and gun club and shooting skeet and trap or my Glock....that works too.
It has taken me years to jump into this arena and I will admit I am not comfortable with it. But....finding a good worthy priesthood holder, a man who loves and serves his Lord, and, wants a good wife at his side is more important to me than my comfort level. Give me a call and lets see if the Lord has a plan for us.
