I'm a band director and music teacher for students at two K-8 schools. I'm fairly outgoing, but I tend to be a bit shy when I first meet people. I love music, reading, baking, outdoor activities, beading, and being around people in general. I like to meet new people and try new things.
Being a band teacher, I obviously love music. Technically I can play most instruments, but I'm best at the clarinet and piano. I'm currently learning the organ for my calling as ward organist. I love playing music, but I love teaching kids to create music even more.
I love learning and am not ashamed to admit that most people consider me smart and ambitious, so hopefully you don't find that intimidating. I love reading and studying all kinds of topics I enjoy museums and concerts. However, seeing the impact that parental neglect has on my students, I think teaching needs to take a back seat to strengthening the family.
Although I would never describe myself as athletic, I believe in the importance of an active lifestyle. I avoid most team sports as they make my weaknesses too visible, but enjoy hiking, swimming, dancing, yoga, and pilates.
