I'm the 5th of 7 children, a Tarheel born and bred. (I've lived in North Carolina my whole life aside from the time I spent in Utah attending BYU. NC is home, it's beautiful, and you're missing out if you haven't been here.) I have a degree in Linguistics, but thanks to a completely unexpected and fantastic turn of events, I'm now working as a podiatric medical assistant. Recently I've started giving some thought to medical school, so I'm working toward figuring that goal out. In the meantime, though, I'm blooming where I'm planted and loving the journey.
I don't necessarily excel in any one thing in particular, but I love learning and doing all sorts of things regardless of my skill level, especially if it means I get to spend time with my friends. The only exception is running. That's one thing I always get bored with. Let's go biking, hiking, or dancing instead.
Like anyone who has a soul, I love music. I enjoy singing, playing clarinet, saxophone, piano, guitar, and I'm sort of learning to play the banjo. Oh, and I play a mean nose-kazoo. If you're lucky, you'll get to see it one day. I enjoy performing in just about any venue, on stage, or around a campfire.
I also get great joy from traveling. Any distance, and by any means—car, plane, bike, boat, you name it! One of my dreams is to get my pilot's license and own a plane.
I have 4 nieces and 3 nephews, all of whom are adorable and hilarious. I sometimes want to grow up to be just like my 5-year-old niece because that girl is the coolest.
I believe in smiling, laughing, loving, and never taking yourself too seriously. I intend to end up with someone who shares those beliefs and is willing to have adventures of varying degrees with me.
Real Talk: I quote Nacho Libre a lot, perhaps excessively. It's one of the ways I try to infuse joy and humor into my daily life. It's fanTAstic!
Lastly, I don't bite. So let's talk!
