Story: A few years ago, a bunch of the fam was together reading scriptures and my brother turns to Grant, then 6, and asks, "Do you know what it means to be accountable?" Grant looks pensive, then lights up, "Sure, you eat people." We died laughing. Kids confusing "accountable" with "a cannibal" is just the kind of stuff I look forward to with a future family of my own - along with bedtime stories, skinned knees, father's blessings, fort-making, scripture time, bedside prayers, fatherly advice, the soccer games, dinner table discussions, and the rest!
I'd like to think I'm complex - I think of others, am self aware, and think things through often more than most- but certainly there are friends and family that know me well. One birthday, friends surprised me with a game - "You don't know Jack!" (I'm Jack - nice to meet you, too.) According to them the TV characters I'm most like are Jack from LOST or Jack Bauer (don't worry, not that intense - just the job) and the cheesy 80s movie character I'm most like is Tom Cruise in Risky Business (though maybe not his choice of garb.).
I believe in being a member missionary and attending the temple. I'm learning to play guitar right now. My favorite Ben & Jerry's are Milk Cookies or Peach Cobbler - yes, that's important, too.
Favorite art: Winged Victory of Samothrace, Washington at VF, O Jerusalem.
Favorite vacations: lake/beachhouse, international, camping, roadtrips, cabin or a cruise.
Who I'd Like to Meet:
Good friends, people who are passionate about life, are thinkers, feelers, and doers, people who engage in scintillating conversation, inspire, put in an equal share into a relationship, and who bring smiles and laughter to those around them.
