Looking for Mrs.Smith, if my name were Smith - spoiler, it's not.
Story: A few years ago, a bunch of the fam was together reading scriptures and my brother turns to Grant, then 6, and asks, "Do you know what it means to be accountable?" Grant looks pensive, then lights up, "Sure, you eat people." We died laughing. Kids confusing "accountable" with "a cannibal" - priceless. Love kids.
On my birthday last year, a couple of my hometeachees made this list of what they appreciate, see in me:
Honorable priesthood holder
Easy to talk to
Witty / entertaining
Successful in your career
Magnify your callings
Always looking for ways to improve and progress
Love of learning
Willing to change
Inclusive of others
Sincere / honest
Not an exhaustive list, but a pretty good one. I do have a voracious thirst for learning and like to think. And I have a zeal for life and experiencing things and the world - and appreciating. I am a doer always with projects I'm working on, a giver always thinking of and serving others. I am self aware and tend to think things through often more than most... and I'd like to think I'm complex but certainly there are friends and family that know me well and value and appreciate me and what I bring to their lives. I'm chill and interesting. Empathetic and uplifting. I'm patient and engaging. I like balance. I believe in being a member missionary and attending the temple.
Recently I've started trying to learn to play the guitar and do Parkour... it was about time, right? Exactly my thoughts.
Also just finished a book - Emperor of All Maladies (a long book on the history of cancer research/treatment) - and another book on Judaism and Zoroastrianism. I'm always reading something interesting!
Favorite art: Winged Victory of Samothrace, Washington at VF.
Favorite vacations: lake/beachhouse, international (I prefer a cultural vs. a "touristy" experience), camping, roadtrips, cabin or cruise...
Enough to get a conversation going?
