Howdy stranger :)
Allow me to properly introduce myself. My name is Emily. I'm fairly quiet, shy and a bit of a homebody. I love to cook, and most evenings you'll find me at home whipping up a gourmet meal for one, then reading myself to sleep. I've awoken with my face planted in many a book; my morning book face is just so awesome. Any Saturday done right begins with fun on wheels or water (roller blading and SUP are my two favorites), followed by some boring grown up stuff (laundry, cleaning, grocery shopping) and ends with food, friends and froyo. Sundays are all about church and my cherished weekly nap!
My parents are still sweethearts in love after 40 years. Their example of true love is what I want. We're an unusually small family, for Mormons; I only have one sister. My sister, however, has gifted me with four wild and crazy nephews and one tenderhearted niece- very proud, doting aunt here!
I've been a nanny forever. I moved from Utah to San Francisco for work three years ago. That was a massive culture shock! However, the beauty and quirkiness of the SF Bay Area have since grown on me. I don't know how/if I'll ever leave! I grew up a naval officer's daughter. We moved every few years, and I've continued that trend into adulthood. I've lived all over the world: Dubai, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Daytona Beach, Italy, just to name a few. I travel every chance I get. My goal is to visit each of the national parks, all of the temples in North America. I'm really looking forward to visiting the Apia Samoa temple in June '14! I'm also well on my way to crossing off the weirdest item on my bucket list: pee in every ocean! Ha ha!
Gosh, I can't think of anything else. If you're curious, just ask. I'm an open book. Or, more likely, face down in one!
