My name is Doug. I'm a student at Boise State studying mechanical engineering. I've kind of taken the scenic route through college, so I've still got about two years left to go. It's been a good experience, for the most part. I'm actually thinking about going into teaching when I graduate though, which sounds kind of weird.
As far as the important stuff, my favorite color is green, my favorite Muppet is Gonzo, favorite subject in school is physics, favorite animal is dolphins, favorite sport is soccer, favorite holiday is Christmas, favorite vehicle is airplanes. My lifelong goals are to have a family, be a successful inventor, give someone on the street a 100 dollar bill, and restore a classic car.
I was fortunate to grow up in the church. I have a strong testimony that it is the true church of Jesus Christ on the earth and that it was restored through Joseph Smith and is still led by a living prophet today. I know that living by the gospel's teachings brings happiness and joy and that the commandments are given to us to make us have a better life here on earth.
I tend to spend most of my free time at home watching movies or reading. That's less because I don't like going out and doing stuff and more because I'm incredibly unimaginative when it comes to deciding what to do. My favorite types of books are science fiction and fantasy. I like most movies that have a good story or interesting characters. I also like to play volleyball whenever I get the chance, play disc golf, and go for walks. Musical instruments are fun too, I have a couple I'm trying to learn to play and a couple more I can play pretty well.
