Greetings. My name is Doug, as you may have guessed. I’ve heard you marry who you date. If that’s the case I’m in trouble, because I don’t date anybody. I’m kind of hoping to change that, hence this website.
I’m a student studying electrical engineering, recently transferred to BSU to be closer to my family. When I finish school (I think it’ll happen sometime) I’d like to work with aircraft electrical/avionics systems because) I think airplanes are awesomely cool (dolphins too, just throwing that in).
I’ve been described as “painfully shy” and can be awkward in social situations, which is the other part of why I joined this site. I’m not sure it’s helped too much, but at least it’s been interesting.
In my free time I like to ont-weight:bold;")read a lot. My favorite books are sci-fi and fantasy. I really like Star Wars books, particularly the New Republic era. The Shannara books are probably my favorite fantasy books. Gerald Lund is also one of my favorite authors.
Some other things I like include games (except the awkward get to know you variety), music, walking around the neighborhood, sports, and watching TV or movies. That basically sums up how most of my free time gets spent, when I have it.
I’m from a pretty big family. I have 4 brothers and 1 sister. Don’t feel too sorry for her though, she was the oldest, so she got the rest of us to do things like play with Barbie dolls before we were old enough to know better.
The gospel is really important to me. I don’t think I’d like who I would be without it. I’m nowhere near perfect, but I haven’t given up on getting there at some point far into the future.
I think that for a relationship to work, you need two things. First both people have to be committed to keeping the commandments. Second, they both need to be willing to put the other person’s well-being ahead of their own. And if you enjoy the other person’s company that doesn’t hurt either.
