Well, here I am being open to the presence of a man with the daring and vision to share the wild ride of experiencing the hand of the Lord in my life for the present and into eternity.
Being open to such things has resulted in my current situation where I find myself completing a Master’s degree program and experiencing a whirlwind of people I didn’t even know I was missing until we found each other. This has led to a wellspring of personal growth and an abundance of love in my life. And I know the Lord is not finished with me yet!
As for stuff (a highly technical term, of course;-) about me, I think I will let some quotes that resonate for me stand in:
"The praise that comes from love does not make us vain, but more humble." -- James M. Barrie
"Language is the dress of thought; every time you talk your mind is on parade." -- Dr Samuel Johnson
"What is a great love of books? It is something like a personal introduction to the great and good men of all past times. Books, it is true, are silent as you see them on their shelves; but, silent as they are, when I enter a library I feel as if almost the dead were present, and I know if I put questions to these books they will answer me with all the faithfulness and fullness which has been left in them by the great men who have left the books with us." -- John Bright
“The only service a friend can really render is to keep up your courage by holding up to you a mirror in which you can see a noble image of yourself.” -- George Bernard Shaw
"We did not change as we grew older; we just became more clearly ourselves." -- Lynn Hall
"Imaginary evil is romantic and varied; real evil is gloomy, monotonours, barren, boring. Imaginary good is boring; real good is always new, marvellous, intoxicating." -- Simone (s)Weil
"Time sets the stage; fate writes the script; but only we may choose our character." -- Liam Thomas Ryder
"Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old." -- Franz Kafka
"He who knows others is learned; He who knows himslef(!-- is wise." -- Lao-Tzu
"Happiness is inward and not outward; and so it does not depend on what we have, but on what we are." -- Henry Van Dyke
"You don't have to be a person of influence to be influential. In fact, the most influential people in my life are probably not even aware of the things they've taught me." -- Scott Adams
If any of this sparks an interest or kindred feeling drop me a line and we will see where the ride takes us. And, of course, friends of either gender welcome. All the best to you!
