Who's up for a new adventure? Life is to short, and the blessings are to abundant for us to want otherwise. We are abundantly blessed with where we are and who we are. There's so much to take advantage of and to enjoy.
I was born and raised in Kearns. I am a proud graduate of Kearns High School, Go Cougars! I have a wonderful family of three brothers and a sister, and I am the middle of the five. It's great to be in the middle. Following high school, I served my mission in Illinois. Following my mission, I went to SLCC, and the University of Utah where I studied physics. Following this, I worked in a pharmaceutical lab for a couple of years.
I am currently working toward my Masters of Health Physics degree at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. It seemed like an excellent follow-up to my Physics degree at the University of Utah. I am studying radiation and how it interacts with matter. As we learn more, we can do better to take advantage of the tool of radiation, without getting ourselves hurt. I certainly look forward to the career opportunities that I will be able to enjoy in this industry. I mean, working with radiation, how cool is that.
The top priorities in my life are the gospel and family. I was blessed with parents who were true to the faith, and raised me to be such as well. I am grateful for their wonderful teachings and examples. I am proud to have served in the great states of Illinois and Iowa on my mission. I'm not so proud that my mission, the Illinois, Peoria mission, no longer exists, but what do you do? They were two fantastic years of my life, and two of the most important. My mission president did teach us that if they are the best years of our lives our mission would be a failure, so I've worked to make sure my life is always getting better. Of course, no other success can compensate for failure in the home, so family is the most important pursuit of our lives.
I really enjoy hiking. I love the feeling of accomplishment you get when you summit a mountain. Fortunately, Utah has a lot of those, so I enjoy plenty of success. I also love to snowshoe in the winter. You get such an excellent feeling of solitude when on the snow. I also work to keep up my fitness level, go to the temple, and take institute classes.
I really enjoy following sports. I do play them, but it is impressive to see what the professionals can do. My favorite team is the Jazz. I also always enjoy cheering the BYU cougars on. The NCAA march madness tourney is definitely my favorite sporting event of the year. It is competition it its purest sense.
I also love road trips. America is truly a great land. Colorado was one of my favorite trips I've taken. I'd like to return. There are so many great places to see and experience. I also always enjoy getting together with friends, hanging out, playing games, and laughing a lot, but, really, who doesn't?
As much as I've enjoyed what's come so far, I also recognize it's time to move to the next adventure in life. Will you be along for the ride?
