Hey, y'all!
Let's see how the online thing goes-- I COMPLETELY prefer face to face and real interaction when it comes to getting to know people, but I think that I am looking for someone so rare --my "one in a million"--that I've got to get working on my million somehow. I'm a statistician. I can turn anything into a numbers problem....;)
I want someone that can understand me spiritually, can support me in my loftier aspirations (while being patient and compassionate that I'm not there yet), has complete respect for the agency of others, and knows what he's here for (a real sense of purpose and direction). In my dating life, I don't want to be just an acceptable make, model, and mileage that somebody's looking for; but I rarely feel like anybody sees me for who I am, or in the way that Heavenly Father sees me. Integrity, morality and accountability are qualities that are extremely important to me. Heaven help the man that possesses them all, because he's about to find out what human velcro feels like.... ;)
My perfect guy looks forward to serving missions when he's retired (and BIG bonus points if he would learn Hungarian!). He would also possess a cheeriness (for lack of a better word) of spirit that comes from living the gospel and practicing the principle of gratitude in his life, no matter what has happened to him. People with depth and motivation to spiritually progress and learn are always my favorite people because I can feel true connection with them. I think someone's sense of humor is an indication of their value system. I just adore people who are funny and loving at the same time.
Service:
In the past 12 years, I've been a Primary president, Gospel Doctrine teacher (my favorite), Visiting Teacher (as always), ward pianist (admittedly a pretty bad one), and a RS teacher. Right now I am a ward Singles rep, and a Stake Middle Singles Rep. I run an email list (380+ people) for Middle Singles events in the Denver area.
Hobbies:
I'm a big fan of my 3 kids, an above average French Horn player, a mediocre pianist, and an absolutely rotten putt putt golfer. On the Meyer- Briggs I am an E 22%, N 62%, T %12, J 33% (not that it matters, but if it helps you any...) I really enjoy people in general, math, public television, self-help books, dancing (R&B, country swing, beginning salsa, etc.), and gospel study.
Something resonating with you? Drop me a line...
