I am a farmer-boy. I love animals and farm life. I believe in hard work, trusting the Lord and in helping your neighbor. I've grown up in the inter-mountain west and love it, but with family scattered all around the country, I've visited and love every part of America. (Even southern NM which reminds me so much of Afghanistan... and Georgia, which was so stinking humid...)
I am a voracious reader and like to have educated conversations about life, the world, etc... I come from a well traveled and educated family. I love to travel and try new foods- cooking and baking are some of my special skills. As a Mechanical Engineer I like to build things, take them apart and never pay for anyone to work on my car as I can do it just as well if not better... though it might take me longer.
Outdoorsy means to me: packing into the Wilds and not missing the comforts of home for a while. I spent my youth staying days or even weeks at a time in the wilderness, especially the mountains, camping, fishing and hunting. Now I do it playing soldier.
I enjoy jumping from airplanes, blowing things up and playing just about all sports, but I don't bother to follow any- except occasionally BYU football. I usually need to be reminded about the games though. I prefer working around the house to watching TV generally, though a movie night is nice.
I love my country, my family and my God. My dream is to retire early and to serve as many senior missions with my future wife as possible. I fully intend to go back to Africa for that, especially as Cape Verde is the most wonderful little country in the world. (Mozambique and Angola are the next on the list too and maybe South America or Asia... or even Europe)
I am looking for someone to share adventures with, both at home and abroad and who will enrich my life by helping me gain greater appreciation of the things that they love. I will do my best to do the same and to honor and support whoever is amazing enough to win me over and feel the same about me. I'm not looking to just get hitched quick, but want someone whom I can respect and build a meaningful relationship with.
Well, that is me in brief. My excuse for internet dating is the military and not being stationed near a large LDS population. As it is, I hope to meet someone intriguing and then figure out the logistics of travel later. I'm an officer, so I am good at that.
