Здравствуйте! I recently returned from serving a full-time mission in the Russian Far East. Living in Siberia in the middle of winter afforded me a wealth of new knowledge I had never dreamed I'd acquire by personal experience--including, for example, the fact that the Fahrenheit and Celsius scales cross at -40. However, no matter the temperature or other formidable or favorable circumstances, I loved my mission and the wonderful people whom I met there, and have always been very grateful to have the Gospel in my life.
In general, I love traveling and experiencing new cultures. I've been to South Korea several times, and also spent parts of two different summers studying in le="font-weight:bold;")Europe. Sometimes I stay up late into the night watching documentaries about places I'd love to someday visit. But don't get me wrong--documentaries aren't the only way to go. I love HGTV, and also have a special place in my heart for such masterpieces as "The Lord of the Rings" and such gems as "The Princess Bride."
Before my mission, l earned a bachelor's degree in piano performance from BYU, and a master's degree in piano pedagogy and performance from the University of Michigan. As I would like to become a university professor, I am now planning to apply to several PhD programs in musicology, and hope to end up back east again. Most importantly, however, I want to fulfill Heavenly Father's will, and am striving to live a worthy life so that He can guide me on the path to eternal happiness. Family is very important to me, and I hope to have one of my own, no matter the sacrifice it may require. With gratitude and optimism, I look forward to what the future holds!
