I'm always up for living a new adventure. I've raised my children (that was a real adventure) but they are all up and away. I'm proud of the adventures they live. I don't hover but like to stay close. I love playing the grandpa. I've been single over ten long years.
I'm a professional with a graduate degree and have switched careers a couple of times, lived in diverse places and cultures. I find enjoyment in waking up to new challenges and am most comfortable in uncertain circumstances. I like to be surrounded with people that are driven by their own ambitions. Still, I am looking for a love where we support each other in our interests.
I find I must have a life that creates meaning. I engage a lot in community and service work. I focus my energies on youth and community leaders. I enjoy the company of people smarter than me -- and are willing to share. I have varied interests and love expanding them. Literature, business, outdoors, cooking, psychology, history, politics, art, music, science - not necessarily in that order. But, interests are no substitute for substance. My close friends are "solid people". Farmers, mechanics, salesmen, nurses, teachers, etc --
I like reading several books at once, newspapers and journals. I only get into sports when it is the playoffs and then only when I can scan through the non-action - or I have someone to talk to through the commercials and timeouts.
Oh, I need to mention that I wilt without a good dog.
I like to laugh often, stay away from judgemental people and cling to those with solid values. I am looking for a life partnership with a companion that enjoys laying in bed and talking late into the night.
A good evening has a little adventure to it: new restaurant or food, live performance, a campfire, a surprise. A great evening is sitting at home and chatting with my loved ones.
My youngest son, when in kindergarten, said it best, "Our family is ADVENTUROUS! I don't have a lifelong agenda. I just push the envelope however it presents itself. Our other motto is, "Loyalty trumps all".
