Single, entrepreneurial mom of one with pets. My daughter is 14 and life is changing for both of us. I am new-again to Tucson, having visited here a number of times over the years. Officially moving here has been my dream for a very long time, and key to my decision to live a better life. I was having a very difficult time physically in Maine (where I moved from) and I have worked from home since early 2009. I feel exponentially better being back in my desert and I am getting stronger and healthier every day! When I moved, I gave myself this whole first year to reach a number of goals that all amount to improving our health, wealth and happiness; not necessarily in that order. Shouldn't that be everyone's goal?
I am a convert to the Church, and I will save my journey and testimony for another day. ;-) I'm also foregoing essay structure and segue for brevity and maximum content.
I have a BA in Anthropology and Spanish, but worked much of my career as an ER veterinary technician. I have traveled a bit. Read a bit. Like most anthropologists, we learn a lot about many things. I think that can be intimidating and probably quite boring for people when I ramble on about things no one cares about. I get confused with double entendre, nuance, even sarcasm. I often require jokes be explained to me. (I know this because I live with a teenager.) I suppose that could be considered a little eccentric, but I am so much more! I love children and the older my daughter gets, the more I wish that I had more. I would love to expand our family and exchange students and adoption are in the 10 year plan.
Aside from veterinary, anthropological, and language pursuits, I love sewing, I refurbish and "up-cycle furniture," I love antiques, books, rocks, bones, education and travel. And music! I'm not a fan of sport, but I love the outdoors. I've always wanted to learn to fish well but haven't found an instructor. I am a farmer's daughter and my family on both sides are hunters.
