I love sports, outdoors, animals and just about any activity. I also like to discuss things such as a good book, religious ideas, etc. I would like to find someone with whom I can have a good conversation. I am strong willed, determined and hard working so I would need someone who can match those qualities and who knows how to follow their dreams.
I love to laugh and am very humorous and witty. I love to travel, learn about other cultures and their languages. I speak English, Spanish, Portuguese and a bit of German.
I have two parrots and a tortoise who are very dear to me. When possible, I would like to get a dog. I would like to find someone who loves animals as well. I also love music. I play the piano. The last piece I played for a competition can be found on you tube: Nocturne op 72 Chopin Piano Solo. I am the 5th (or so) one down wearing a red dress, playing on the white grand piano (if you can't figure out the riddle below, you can send me something at the just-mentioned place as well).
I have quite a bit of other hobbies/interests as well. I love latin and swing dancing. I oil paint, make jewelry, sew clothes, bake, cook, garden, shoot (although I am not a fan of hunting or fishing), sports (racquetball, squash, volleyball, basketball, swimming, road biking, ultimate Frisbee, rollerskating, etc.), horseback riding, rock climbing, backpacking, camping, hiking, canoeing and skiing. In general, I like learning new things and am open to learning just about anything.
A bit about my background: I grew up in Los Angeles and then lived in northern California while going to school. I moved out to Minnesota for a job about 2.5 years ago, but am not really appreciating the climate (the -40 degree winters and 100 degree with 95% humidity summers are quite insufferable). I do like that there is wildlife I see here on a regular basis, still, I'm not a Minnesota girl. Right now I am looking for a different job on either the East or West Coast. I am pretty much open to any other place except North Dakota. I would even like to live in Europe for a few years.
My job: I work as a mathematical modeler, currently specializing in animal nutrition. I am a researcher and am given a lot of freedom in my work, which lends itself to creativity. I like my job, but honestly I do not want to work 40 hours/week for the rest of my life.
