Faith will erase your doubt about receiving the blessings from helping me raise my 4 children. The question is who's faith? Yours or mine? Would you believe me if I told you MINE is enough to erase YOUR doubt? When I fold my arms I am exercising my faith and you best be prepared to witness a plan changing miracle.
Howdy, my name is Robert. I have custody of my four children. The youngest is the only girl. I was granted custody in March 2006. I am divorced since Feb 2009. I know I can raise my children on my own and yet have come to the conclusion that with the right woman my life and that of my children will be happier, funner, more spiritual, more complete.
I don't expect to find the right woman overnight and am very patient. If it takes a year or two or more to get to know her well enough then that is fine with me.
My children and I usually go camping at least once a year. We have lots of Lego bricks and we enjoy build things with them and play with them. We also like ice skating.
I try to do new things with my children so that we can all experience something new every now and then. Some of the new activities I hope to do with my children are sailing and boating. I recently bought an inflatable boat we plan to use camping this year.
We like having pets and currently have one parakeet, one cockatiel, and one aquatic turtle. I enjoy keeping fresh water tropical fish and will have some again someday.
We have FHE every Monday night, read in the scriptures every night, have morning and evening family prayers, go to church every Sunday, and go to many church activities. I have never turned down a church calling.
I work as an SQL Programmer. I have been working at the same place since May 2000. I enjoy my work.
I enjoy writing and am currently working on a fantasy novel that I plan to publish once it is ready.
I have no problem with a woman that wants to work as long as our work schedules are similar enough that we can spend plenty of time doing things together. I also will be happy with someone who wants to be a stay at home mom; my salary can handle it. If you happen to have children (even 4 or more) and/or want more that is fine with me. If you happen to not want more and/or have none that is fine too. I won't pressure you. I can't guarantee my children won't. My oldest wants a baby brother and my youngest wants a sister.
I am not a picky eater; one of my boys is.
I am blessed with an enormous amount of patience. It is rare for me to get angry. I don't hold grudges and forgive others easily; usually instantly. It is nearly impossible to offend me. I am often serious, but know how to joke around too.
I believe that a husband and wife share in all activities related to raising children and that includes the house work. I happen to be a horrible cook and hate cooking. That's why I have been teaching my children what little I know about cooking. My daughter can make Macaroni & Cheese all by herself. She's 9 years old. My youngest son enjoys making scrambled eggs and sunny side up eggs. He's 10.
I am very good at washing dishes, washing clothes, and folding them and putting them away. I usually watch a movie while folding clothes. I do a fair job cleaning bathrooms.
My other two boys are 14 and 12.
The reason (probably me rationalizing) I do not have a temple recommend is because I have let things get in the way. During my last interview I was told that I needed to get a testimony of Home Teaching. I have seldom been good at getting out to do my Home Teaching. Finding a baby sitter on a regular basis is one of my weak points. I am hoping to have my oldest son Willem assigned to me as my companion and hope that will give me the motivation to get out and do my home teaching.
My current church callings are senior primary teacher and Cubmaster. We attend a Spanish speaking ward. I love teaching children and have been in primary in my current ward long enough that I know children in all 9 classes in primary.
I enjoy Celtic, Country, and Pop music the most. I do like other genre's and have purchased a variety so my children can experience the different genre's.
Who I hope to find:
A woman who will tell me no lies even if the truth is painful, knows how to control her thoughts enough to remain faithful, and believes that there are more effective ways to help children choose to be obedient than spanking.
I prefer someone who enjoys regular family outings (preferably monthly), regular date nights just her and me (preferably weekly), and understands the importance of regular alone time for each of us; meaning an hour or two at least every two weeks.
