When I was two my parents took me and my three older sisters camping. I was the only one too small to help with set-up so my mother put up one of those playpens that sit on top of the grass. As soon as her back was turned I started burrowing underneath the edge. By the time my parents noticed I had made a tunnel in the soft dirt and squirmed my way out. They found me running for adventure half way to the highway.
Although less likely to burrow underneath structures, I'm still curious and interested in adventure. I like to learn new things and have fun. Aside from a strong testimony of the gospel, the two qualities I value most in those around me are kindness and a good sense of humor.
I'm a little goofy and a lot nerdy. I'm finishing a PhD in literature with a specialty in Romantic Poetry (British poetry 1780-1850), and I teach university courses in literature and writing. I dabble in pop culture studies and once presented a paper about Teen Wolf at an academic conference. It went surprisingly well.
I like movies, even bad ones, and I hate reality TV. I like to cook but prefer to do it with other people. Every time I try to craft it's slightly disastrous--last time I made sugar cube igloos with my sisters mine was condemnable, but I enjoy trying.
I like getting to know people. If you'd like to get to know me send me a message.
