If you are are a man who puts God first, and is striving to actually live the gospel, and can say yes to these things: you have your priorities in the proper perspective, you honor your Priesthood, you are valiant in your testimony of the gospel, please read on!
First, I must admit that online dating doesn't excite me because when I read someone's profile, rarely do I feel like I can get a true sense of what that person is all about. Once in a while I find a gem that makes me smile and think wow he sounds cool! It's almost as though I can hear the person just talking to me and there seems to be a familiarity, an assurance that we would be great friends. I can't really define why that is but I know it when I see it. I guess the trick is finding someone that feels the same about me so we will actually be motivated to communicate with each other right? So I will attempt to write this type of profile, just talking openly and honestly as if we were face to face, saying what comes to mind and see how it goes.
I agree that starting with a healthy friendship is important, necessary and key to building a solid relationship but honestly just meeting friends is not my goal here. I am searching for my best friend, my soul mate. I trust that when we eventually cross paths we will recognize something special that draws us to each other. Hopefully that time will come soon.
If we are meant to be together, here are some of the qualities that I will appreciate and admire in you; you are faithful, honorable, loyal, caring, communicative, honest, kind, responsible, motivated, dedicated, affectionate & passionate (yes they are different), patient, positive and happy. You have a spark, an intensity about you that radiates genuine zest for life and sincere desire to live it to the fullest. You love to laugh and have fun. As a husband you will cherish me, defend our family, value being equally yoked, and actively participate in creating a Christ centered life together built on a sure gospel oriented foundation, framed in principles of love and respect, defining and developing our dream, working together to turn it into reality and keep it growing stronger for the rest of forever.
While waiting for you, I'm working on becoming my best self by strengthening those qualities that would help me be not just compatible with you, but complimentary to you. Of course I want to be as perfect as possible right now but I am not. I am realistic though and just keep trying to improve each day. I hope you are doing the same.
Together we would be energized to set goals and priorities, and encourage each other in our efforts to reach them. And no matter what comes, when life gets hard and we get worn out, we do not check out, or give up. We support each other, keep our faith strong and never doubt our ability to overcome anything. We can have success in everything we choose to do because we are a team and partnered with Heavenly Father.
Ok then, with all that serious stuff out of the way I can hope that if you are still reading you might be interested in the following info about me...
My name is Shelliene. I lived most of my life in Washington, short time in Utah, moved here three years ago and I love it! I love the sun and being outdoors as much as I can. The climate here reminds me of Spain where I served my mission in 92/93. I was baptized when I was 20 and am the only member of my family. I was married for 8 years to a widower and got to be mom to his 4 children. I still really miss them and have spent a lot of time grieving and healing, and now I finally feel ready to move forward.
I love cats and many dogs however I'm not crazy about yippers or slobber.
I have always worked hard to support myself. Recently I enjoyed my job as a life skills coach for developmentally disabled adults but decided I needed to find something else less stressful so now I just started as nanny/house manager for an awesome family with 4 kids which is perfect seeing how I basically did this same thing for 8 years. Now I work until 6pm and I get paid! Awesome!! Seriously, I find it so rewarding because I can still work to strengthen home and families as we are supposed to do but it's very difficult to do without a family. I love to help and serve.
I recycle, I donate blood. I vote, which by the way if you voted for Obama it's pretty safe to say we would not be compatible.
I enjoy arts, history, humanities, biology etc. but not math. I would like to go back to school. I speak Spanish. I love road trips, camping, traveling, different cultures, cooking, great food - especially Thai, and nearly all types of music. I sing Alto in choir. Also, want to learn to play the piano, viola or cello, and guitar. I love drumlines and bagpipes and steel drums. I enjoy dancing; salsa, swing and ever heard of Contra Dancing? I have pretty decent photography skills. I like most sports. I don't care much for motorcycles, think Halloween is the worst holiday, 4th of July is the best! I love herbs and plants, dream of having my own land and huge garden. I like to cook, farmers markets, garage sales, summer outdoor concerts. Love the mountains and trees. Love water, swimming and stargazing, especially at the same time.
I don't always talk this much, I can be content keeping someone company and just being, or listening. I think good communication - talking and listening - is critical to a healthy relationship. I keep trying to improve and achieve balance in all aspects of my life. I'm trying to live a calm, anti-stressful life and have a zero tolerance policy for drama or contention.
I went to school and became a licensed massage therapist, also studied aromatherapy. I use essential oils and homeopathic medicines. I value Chiropractic and other Holistic health care options. It would be a huge bonus if you had appreciation for these things or were at least willing to learn about them. I'm also interested in non-fanatical emergency prep and took the training to be a CERT member. All that being said, I am not anywhere close to being a hippy granola chick. At least not like the ones I met since I moved here. But I do like to shop at Whole Foods and try to eat organic, working on switching over to a mostly Paleo diet that includes a few certain types of beans and grains and ice cream.
Ok so that's about all I can think of for now LOL! If you are interested please let me know! Smile or smile back, or send me a message or your autobiography and let's see what happens :)
