Down-to-earth artsy girl with a love of gardening and being outdoors. I'm pretty quiet and shy at first but those who take the opportunity to get to know me discover my sometimes-clever sense of humor and cunning powers of observation.
I can enjoy myself in just about any situation, however I'm happiest when I'm doing something engaging - whether physically or mentally. I do love movies, however, and my favorites are those that challenge my ideas and/or draw me into the story.
I very much enjoy being a mom and doing things with my son - whether playing with Legos on the living room floor or traveling through Europe. We like to travel and take advantage of those opportunities as the come. Italy is one of our favorite destinations, but Idaho and California are more frequent. There are plenty of places within the U.S. we still need to see (like carhenge and Yosemite).
I have Spenser W. Kimball quote on my refrigerator which reads:
"To be a righteous woman during the winding-up scenes on this earth, before the Second Coming of our Savior, is an especially noble calling. The righteous woman's strength and influence today can be tenfold what is might be in more tranquil times. She has been placed here to help to enrich, to protect, and to guard the home - which is society's basic and most noble institution. Other institutions in society may falter and even fail, but the righteous woman can help to save the home, which may be the last and only sanctuary some mortals know in the midst of storm and strife."
I, by no means believe I am perfect, but this quote motivates me to continue on the path I'm on and validates the importance of home and family life. Despite being unmarried, Kimball's words are still true. I look forward to expanding my family and opening our home to others who will add to and need the influence of a righteous sanctuary.
