Inspired by meager local LDS dating opportunities, my cousin's LDSSingles success, and my mom's wish to "get me a man" for my birthday (still laughing about that one!): here I am:)
A bit about me: My biggest passions in life can be summed up with 7 'F's': My faith, friends, family, fashion, food/fitness, and faraway places.
Faith: I love the gospel and the peace, purpose, and direction it brings to my life. Right now I am called as a CTR-5 teacher in primary. Those kids crack me up, drive me crazy, and melt my heart every week - usually all three within the course of one hour. I love it! It is my favorite. calling. ever. Bottom line: I love my LDS life, and I'm dedicated to living my faith.
Family/Friends: My highest priority! I have been blessed with an amazing family and the best of friends. My 11-year-old daughter is my greatest joy, and I love being a mom. I look forward to having more kids someday.
Fashion: What can I say, I'm a bit of a girly-girl at heart, and sometimes nothing beats a good day at the mall. With that said, I'm also mindful of my spending and am a self-proclaimed 'budget princess' and 'coupon queen';)
Food/Fitness: After struggling with my weight for many years, about a year ago I decided to make some changes, lost 60 pounds, and have never felt better. While my fitness plan is a priority in my life, I don't obsess over it. I have a firm belief in 'all things in moderation' and an even firmer belief in Sunday night dessert:)
Faraway Places: I LOVE to travel! So far Maui tops the list of my most favorite destinations, with Italy in a close second. I also love visiting family 'out west' (Idaho, Utah, Colorado). I'm always scheming up excuses for my next adventure:)
Education is another one of my passions in life, but that, of course, doesn't start with an 'F';) My undergraduate and master's degrees are both in communication, and I loved my position as a graduate assistant teaching public speaking to college freshmen. I'd hoped to continue in a similar teaching position after graduation, but there hasn't been much opportunity. Currently I am looking into internship and/or career opportunities in academic advising, academic administration, and/or adjunct teaching. My 'latest and greatest' is potentially pursuing a graduate certificate in Leadership for Post-Secondary, Technical, and Adult Education alongside an internship in academic advising come spring semester. I'll update as details unfold.
I have an easy-going personality and approach to life. I've been told I laugh a lot (in an endearing, and not annoying sort of way - I like to think;). It's probably true, but why not - life is funny!
Ultimately, with the exception of the rather frustrating job search, I feel like I'm at a really great place in my life, and now I'm just looking to share it with someone. If you think we sound like a good match, don't hesitate to let me know:) I'd love to get to know you better and find out.
