I just noticed my greeting was at least ten years old. Photo also outdated. I now shave my head, and I'm a little fatter (trying to work that off!)
Classic nerd. Well, I was once told I'm not a nerd but I just like nerd things. Either way. I'm socially competent but like nerdy things such as board games, fantasy, sci-fi, etc.
Not a snappy dresser, I'll tell you now. I'd rather have a cool T-Shirt than a sharp polo shirt, for example.
Worked in ESL for several years, federal government for several more, but quit my job to go back to school for a Master's. Have avoided dating not only because not many members here but also hard to tell me I'm a poor student again at 40. That is, until a former colleague of mean emailed me. She was stoked that I not only quit my job to pursue a dream but also wrote a book. And she's an awesome person, so I realized that awesome girls can respect what I'm doing with my life (and, I should add, my family has been super-supportive. My mom was actually frustrated with me when I worked for the government because she felt I had become too complacent in life).
Anyway I'm well beyond having an interest in pretending to be something I'm not to impress others. I'm a nerd, who plays nice with others. I'm compassionate but reserved. I'm simultaneously motivated and a bit sluggish. I need to work out more but am trying. I'm more interested in providing friends and family with happy times and a comfortable place to hang than I am in working long hours and climbing the corporate ladder (I host a lot of game nights at my house and such). Life is about learning to love each other and learning to love what we have, not about trying to obtain more money and status (yet I still want the money so I have more time and resources to do cool stuff).
That is all for now.
