Whoa! How about a little data to go along with those pictures!!!
I'm Linda and first I would like to introduce you to some of my passions. The adventure of domestic and foreign travel constantly entices me and there are multiple places that I would still like to journey to. I have an obsession with flowers. I dream about what I want to plant in my flowerbeds and spend tons of time in my yard. I admit that I am a bit of a "food snob". Testing new recipes and cooking for family and friends is both challenging and rewarding. Teaching is like breathing, it comes naturally and I can always find a student even when I am not in a classroom. Learning or improving my existing skill set is just the way I live life. I am always puttering at some project--quilting, refinishing a piece of furniture, or trying out some new art technique.
Although I can hold my own in a city, I am more of a country girl at heart. When relaxing, I enjoy conversation over dinner at a nice restaurant followed up with a movie. On a sunny spring day, I love a drive in the country. If the weather is not cooperating, it feels right to cuddle up in front of the fire with a book and something warm to drink. In the summer, it is hard to beat an evening paddle on the lake. And if there is a bit more time to burn, spontaneous travel and an overnight at a B&B is always high on my list.
A bit of a risk-taker, I would describe myself as active rather than athletic. I like to hike, fish, kayak, swim, scuba, etc... Some of the more interesting things I have tried are: white water rafting, zip-lining, parasailing, paragliding, rappelling, hot air ballooning, camel riding...
My education has opened many doors for me--career, travel, friendships... Teaching is my calling and I work mostly in the elementary and middle school. These past few years I have taught at private international schools in Egypt, China, and Korea. At the moment, I am at a crossroads and deciding if, when, and where I would like to work next.
It probably isn't surprising that I am an avid reader. I'll read just about anything. Most recently it seems to be fantasy fiction series: The Gracling, Under the Never Sky, and Dauntless. My favorite periodical is "Cooks" magazine.
My 23 year old son and his wife are the most important people in my world. They both have beautiful spirits and I am blessed by their love and support. I grew up in an incredible family and we remain close. My father is my hero. He offered great words of wisdom and walked his talk. He was a quiet, gentle, and humble man who touched hundreds of lives in small ways.
About 13 years ago I became a member of the church. Having the fullness of the gospel has increased my understanding, given me hope, and comfort. My husband passed away about a year ago and knowing God's plan has seen me through this difficult time.
My values and standards are directly related to my religious convictions so it is important to find a like-minded mate. Beyond that, I want to be with someone who smiles, laughs, and sees the humorous side of life. Someone who has a sense of adventure and is willing to be a traveling companion at this time in my life. Someone who appreciates the intimate details of a relationship. Someone who will literally hold my hand whether the journey is down the grocery aisle or along the beach. Someone who isn't willing to sit on the sideline.
