I'm a jovial person with a generally cheerful disposition. Please call me Aaron, though I'll answer to Kirby as it is my middle name.
I'm from heaven; I'm going back there someday! More recently, I was born in Nebraska and raised in Colorado Springs. I served my mission in the Florida Orlando Mission, speaking "Southern." Despite all this, some people think that I sound British (using a fake British accent on purpose once in a while doesn't help). Racially, I'm British, German, Danish, and Jewish in that order. Oh, and I'm from the tribe of Ephraim; it seems to be all the rage nowadays.
I'm a graduate of BYU (really Ricks College-Provo) in communication disorders and I graduated recently with a master's degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences (SLHS) from the University of Colorado at Boulder. I am considering a doctorate but would like some work experience first. As I see it, we'll all be working on an infinite number of degrees in the eternities.
I enjoy playing tennis, racquetball, and volleyball (not that I'm worthy of the national level by any means). I enjoy jogging as the weather permits or as the rec center traffic allows. I can play the organ, pedals and all, but am not proficient at sight-reading.
I love to learn the doctrine of the Restored Gospel and how each of the Standard Works contributes to it. I have a strong testimony of my Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, having gained that testimony for myself through study and sincere supplication.
I am looking for a faithful member of the Church with whom to spend life and the eternities. I wouldn't mind gaining friends and acquaintances in the mean time. My name is Aaron Kirby Ricks and I'm a Mormon, and a darn good one!
