I was born and raised in Hawaii and am a third-generation Japanese American. I was born in the church and served a mission in Japan. I have a graduate degree in Accounting from BYU and have spent most of my career working in the San Francisco Bay Area. I recently worked in Kuwait for two years and was the CFO of an airline that flew to Iraq and Afghanistan.
My working career has taken me to all parts of the world and I have spent extensive time in Asia, Europe, and Latin America. After graduation from BYU I backpacked, hitchhiked, and Eurailed alone throughout Western and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, the Balkans and Israel. In my younger years I was passionate about mountaineering and have climbed over 40 major mountains throughout the world including the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc in the Alps. I am very fit, am mentally and physically healthy and still do some climbing. I love the outdoors and am fond of hunting, shooting, skiing and camping.
Another passion is the arts. I love to sing and play the guitar. I sang for 12 years in Schola Canorum, a semi-professional choir in the SF Bay Area. I also sang in the Ahmadi Music Group in Kuwait where we performed classical, jazz and numerous original compositions by the renowned LDS composer Harriet Bushman, whose husband was the director. I did a number of solos with that group. Most recently I sang with the Oakland Temple Hill Choir. I was the ward choir director for many years. I also love doing musicals but am a terrible actor. I played the pirate king in community theater production of the Pirates of Penzance, and have also done Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, and other productions both locally and in Kuwait. In addition, I played guitar and did vocals for a Polynesian performing group called Pumehana O Hula. I also love to dance and toured with the Folkdancers at BYU. On the European tour I did the Samoan fire dance.
I have a son in the military, and an artist daughter who lives with me. I also have two young children who live with their mother in Canada. I am moving to Meridian to be closer to the little kids. I miss and love them dearly and the move will allow me to spend more time with them.
I am an active and devoted member of the church and have been so all my life. I spearheaded the temple work begun by my parents and relatives and organized the completion of 514 temple cards of my ancestors. This was a wonderful experience.
I am attracted to Caucasian women who are fit, active in the church, and share some of my interests, especially music. If you don't shoot or hunt, that is okay. I am a handy person and like to work with my hands and can cook, do carpentry, maintenance and construction. I am neat and clean up after myself. There is a chance that in the future I may return to the Middle East for work.
