Well this seems like the job interview question... and I guess it is.
I am originally from the Seattle area, but I have been in Salt Lake for almost two years. I lived in Mesa, Arizona for about 10 years, but as soon as I graduated from college, I moved out of the 110+ degree temperature and came here.
I have been playing guitar for a number of years. I find it really allows me to escape and concentrate on something creative. I'm usually pretty shy to play around other people, but it has been known to happen. I'm currently trying to master a song called Diamonds on the Inside by Ben Harper.
I travel a bit for work. I've been to Europe a couple times... Central America once or twice, and being stranded in a random Honduran city without your luggage and passport makes for an interesting evening. The place I go to the most however, is in the Caribbean... I know lucky, right? It's hard work staying at a 5 star hotel and getting to lay on the beach after working. I love to travel for pleasure as well. I would love to go back to the mediterranean.
My favorite hike around here would have to be Mt Olympus. It offers incredible views of the valley, and is somewhat challenging, but completely worth it. I'm gearing up to hike to the summit of Lone Peak in a few weeks.
I work for a local software company. It's challenging but I enjoy it. Unfortunately it keeps my time pretty occupied and I don't get many chances to get out and meet people.
