I am one of those people who is interested in most things. I love living out where having a garden and food animals is possible, but I like cities as well. I love cooking (and baking, and canning) and am fantastic at it, if I do say so myself. I am also a bit of a nerd: I love books, I love computers, and I find science absolutely fascinating even if I'm not the best in the world at it.
I'm currently a contractor for the Bureau of Land Management (ack! Feds!) and spend my summers chasing down weed infestations and winters catching up on the paperwork. I never expected to end up in a job like that (I have a degree in graphic design) but it's fascinating and a lot of fun most of the time. It has taught me to enjoy the outdoors again (after spending many years in school as an indoor-troll).
I hope to finish writing a novel (okay, several, actually) and see if I can't make a go at being a writer. In the meantime, I'm busy teaching myself how to make soap, reading up on beekeeping, and helping my parents finish remodeling their very old house (a project that is nearing a decade in length, heh).
