Let's get down to the pertinent details right off the bat. I'm currently going back to college (English Major), I love stories in any medium, I'm religious and philosophical, and I'm a well-socialized nerd. I LOVE to read. I like to keep fit. I go to a gym, but I don't spend my life there. I also enjoy video games, movies, television, really anything with a good story.
When it comes to books, I enjoy fantasy the most, but I am definitely not limited to just that genre; I've read everything from Marcus Aurellius to Harry Potter to H.P. Lovecraft and many more besides.
Even though I'm an English major, I don't want to teach; I've found that I enjoy it, but it's not my passion. What I would really like to do (apart from the ultimate dream of being a published author) is work for either a publishing company, a library (doing book acquisitions), or writing for television or video games.
I have dabbled in a number of other nerdly pursuits (I love indie boardgames), and I am open to all kinds of new interests, as I love learning new things. Some friends and I have been planning on going to comic con as gender swapped Marvel characters. It has been decided for me that I will go as Black Widow, which will likely involve leather pants of some kind? I don't know, I haven't done a lot of cosplay. We'll see.
As for what I'm looking for in a relationship, I want someone that I'm attracted to and that I have fun with. Similar religious ideals would be nice (I'm a Mormon, and serious about it).
Thought I'd make a quick list of some my favorite things, just to give you more of a snapshot of who I am.
Books: The Dresden Files, The Monstrumologist series, anything by Pratchett. Those are the big names, but I am a huge fan of a number of other authors, ask me if you're curious. Truth be told, I read a LOT.
Movies: The cornetto trilogy (Sean of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World's End), The Shadow, Memento, Cabin In The Woods, Much Ado About Nothing (the Whedon version), Sabrina (both versions), Better Off Dead, and Death At A Funeral (the british version). That's all off the top of my head.
Tv shows: The IT Crowd, That Mitchell and Webb Look, 30 Rock, Firefly, Buffy, Sherlock, New Girl, Adventure Time, and Gravity Falls.
Music: this changes a lot, but current favorites are Mumford and Sons, Sam Smith, Hozier, Bon Iver, Ingrid Michaelson, Scroobius Pip (pretty much the only rap I like. Doesn't hurt that it's more like slam poetry), and a large number of only one or two songs by various artists.
Food: Curry! I like to cook, and I would say I'm decent at it, verging on "pretty good for a bachelor". I make a pretty mean chicken and dumplings, thai curry, and fried rice.
Anything else you want to know about me, feel free to ask.
