Sometimes I wonder if I were to hold a sign up that said pick me! If it would work?
I am in my last semester at The Ohio State University studying speech and hearing science (yes we really do call it that). It has taken me a long time to get this point but I am so excited to get my degree. It's kinda scary because I have no idea what the next step is going to be because I feel like I have been in school forever, but it's exciting! I'm hoping I will get a chance to go grad school and become a audiologist. If I do get to go to grad school and see that dream become a reality I want to work with children and am leaning more and more towards the cochlear implant side which I just find amazing and fascinating.
Before going to OSU I spent four and half year's working as a nanny and loved every minute of it. There were times that I wanted to pull my hair out because of the insanity of it! There is no way to describe conversations you can have with a child until you experience them yourself. I loved every minute I spent with them and still see the kids at least once a month.
Family is something that's very important to me. I am incredibly close to my family. The trials that we have gone through together have strengthened us and helped us to lean on Christ and get to know Him, and I am incredibly greatful that we will be together for eternity.
I am clumsy to the point that it is a disability, and can trip over air. I like to laugh and have a wonderful time. It's hard to think of things to do outside of school because that takes up so much of my time. I like to read, but I haven't done much simply because of the amount I do for school. I guess I could say my hobby is school which is really sad. I like to travel when I get the time. Hopefully I will get to see every state in the country, which I am slowly accomplishing, and eventually the world. It's not easy for me to put myself out there and this is definitely beyond my level of comfort. If you have any questions don't be afraid to ask...
