Nice to meet you! My name is Emily. I'm a reference librarian by trade. I love my work -- I get to do everything from building pirate ships and dragons to acquisitions and program planning. You'll find a picture of me dressed up as a pirate for Summer Reading at the library if you look hard enough. Arrr!
I've spent so much time at the library lately that I haven't spent enough time (or really any time) on dating, and being pretty darn introverted hasn't helped much. I'm hoping to meet someone who has the same priorities I do: family, the Church, and personal growth though service and learning. I'm getting the "let's get married and raise some kids!" itch... not that I wouldn't insist on dating for a good long while first. I like to get to know people slowly :)
Lots of people here mention what they like to do, so here's my list. I love bringing home a good book or three in the evening. I don't have cable, but I do enjoy catching a good sci-fi series or movie on Netflix. I love going out for a bike ride, to the drive-in, to the park, to the museum, or just back home to spend time with family. There's nothing I enjoy more than trying something new (I'm working on archery and calligraphy, but I need to spend more time on both) or building something ridiculous. Travel... that one isn't easy on a librarian's salary, but I have a list in the works!
For the sake of truth in advertising, I'll admit to the following up front:
Plants in my yard are selected according to a single criteria -- their resistance to my black thumb. I was in the choir in elementary school, where they selected more for enthusiasm than talent. I don't wear makeup often. I want to have at least two kids. Finally, I have a bad habit of putting things in clever places, from whence they rarely return.
Again, nice to meet you!
