I have been a member for about 23 yrs., although 8 years ago I left on a journey. Married a non member. Although that lasted only a year, it did take me to a wonderful journey of studying the Old and New Testaments and it is a journey I cherish. I took my love and knowledge of research, taught as a paralegal, and it turned into an adventure of rediscovering the Book of Mormon. In researching the life of Chirst (for the Old and New give His family history as a Hebrew, and then discovering the Dead Sea Scrolls, I was led to the blessings of proving the life of Lehi and Nephi. When so many anti Mormon literature is out there, I discovered the blessing of proving they existed first then the Book of Mormon is easily found in its truthfulness. The writings that are now available to us, the writings that were removed and/or did not make it to the Holy Bible by way of man, without the knowledge of the Book of Mormon, are fascinating. Growing up in a Jewish community, aloud me to understand what most Christians can. Jesus was a Jew and understanding that, and understanding that Lehi too was a Jew, and understanding their ways and beliefs, proved without a doubt the truthfulness of all the Scriptures, including the Book of Mormon. I find that some (usually the women raised in the church) don't understand my love of all the Scriptures and their history; although, most learned men at church love that they can sit and learn together. I just love studying the Scriptures and I am passionate in my conversing on them.
I am not "white".....who really is? Trust me there are more in the roots than we think. My family history is filled with past ancestors who came to this country and lived as whites, but, they truly were not...we were hidden from our true past. My children are all what today's culture describes as biracial. Whites see me as white, but the African Americans can see my ancestry. So my family history can best be described as Irish Cream with a dash of Mocha.
I am not typical, I wear pants most often (until the Holy Spirit tells me not too).I love Gospel music which makes my soul leap! I am not perfect, nor do I expect others to be. I love doing volunteer work for the inner city kids.
I am real down to earth, I love the relationship with the Lord, and I know He gets frustrated at times with me, but, I also knows He runs to me, when I look behind when I am in trouble, I realize He is there within arms' reach.
I am blessed with the gift of writing Prophetic Poetry and it is one I cherish.
Now that I am over 50, who knows if I will ever find an eternal companion. It is up to the Lord. But at least I can make His job a little easier by giving this a try.
