A little about me...
What makes me a great partner is that I am very supportive to the people in my life. I am a quiet person...not exactly the life of the party--although I do love to laugh. But I am the soul of my home and family (extended family--I don't have children). Other people are as important to me as I am.
I work for the Oregon Department of Corrections in their volunteer program (a section of religious services). I have fun meeting, training and talking to volunteers across the state. I also get to work with inmates on a regular basis and that is very rewarding for me. I was a bit amazed when I started working for the department that inmates (most of them) are very much like you and me...they have just made some pretty bad choices. As the volunteer coordinator I train volunteers to help inmates make better choices. It is fun to see that in action.
I am happy with my life, and consequently, I would love to share my life with someone else. I want to be with someone who wants to share their life with me.
How I feel about the Church...
The church is a way of life for me. I think it is not so much doing what is right, but becoming what is right. More than anything the gospel brings me peace and understanding. My relationship with my Savior is the most important relationship in my life.
What I do for fun...
I am working full time and going to school to get my PhD so "fun" tends to be what I am studying. This term it is advanced statistics...ugh. Oh, well. In my off school time I love spending time with my family, particularly my nieces and nephews. I like having friends over for meals. Before I went to school I really liked movies but now I am out of touch. I do still enjoy them though. The last movie I saw was Harry Potter. The last movie I wished I had seen in the theater is The Help. I have decided I am going to have to get the book and read it...especially since the book is usually better than the movie.
This winter I am attending a school seminar in Orlando and I am looking forward to a few days in Disney World after the seminar. I don't have a lot of time for fun, but that makes me enjoy it more.
