Hi, I’m Lisa. I’m a microbiology grad student. I love adventures, people, and burritos. And (as my username suggests) I’m a Mormon.
This is super cliché, but I want to be in a relationship with my best friend: someone who will be there at the end of the day to tell me stories or listen to my stories and laugh with me. Or support each other when we’re upset. If you are good at finding the humor in everyday situations, I’ll probably like you.
People often ask me the question “What do you do for fun?” I’ve only recently come up with an answer to that question. I like to make memories. I go a little crazy in a relationship if all we do is watch movies. I don’t have to do big, expensive things to be happy, but I do like doing things that I’ll remember. I would love to be in a relationship with someone who would come up with fun ideas with me and help me carry them out: things are way more fun with a partner!
I also love helping people and I want someone who values that. My dream is to be the couple that everyone calls when they’re in a pinch, because they know that either we’ll help or we’ll find someone who can.
I have a variety of interests. One of my friends once told me that all I talk about is bacteria and Habakkuk. That's probably not true, but I do love those two topics. I am a graduate student studying photosynthetic bacteria (BACTERIA!) and I mostly love it, but my true career-related love is teaching. I really like to learn and think about the ways that I can help other people to learn. Besides teaching biology, I recently taught an Institute class on the Old Testament (HABAKKUK!) and it was one of the coolest experiences of my life.
