I had just moved to Utah from Idaho where I had not had ANY luck dating. I felt like all the guys I knew were scared of an almost-college graduate RM. I was sick of sitting around and, on a whim, decided to be more proactive about dating. I signed up for LDS Singles just to meet people and have fun...without the slightest idea that I would soon be dating, and then engaged to my best friend!
That first night, I sent out a bunch of flirts, and the next day had an e-mail from my now-fianceé introducing himself. We e-mailed back and forth for about 2 1/2 weeks and then decided to exchange skype addresses so we could IM on there. We literally talked for hours. A few days later, he asked me out. When he dropped me off, he asked me out again for the next night. By the weekend, we knew we wanted to see where things could go with us.
Within 2 weeks, we knew that we were going to get married. We both felt it was right. The next weekend, I took him home to meet my family, where he asked my dad's permission to marry me.
Three weeks later I got to school (I'm a teacher) and he was sitting in my desk with a video camera. He'd written "Miss _________, Will you marry me?" several times on the board, as if he were a punished student doing lines. I was totally shocked!! And yet so completely happy! It was certainly one of the best days that I've ever had!
