Success Stories: 2009
I live in a smaller town and there are very few opportunities to date LDS women. I knew that if I were going to meet someone special to me with the same beliefs, that I was going to need to try something new. I reluctantly decided to try online dating and selected LDSSingles.com based upon reviews. Being able to read profiles helped to cement in my mind what I was searching for in an eternal companion. I know that I knew this already, but really thinking about it solidified those thoughts. There are a lot of interesting and friendly people on the site and in a very short time I met someone with whom I really connected. We've talked for a little while online (on the site) and then on the phone for about 3 weeks. I live in Texas, she lives in North Carolina. At that time I knew it was time to go there and meet her. We had a great time together and really felt comfortable with each other. I've been there a few times since and she is now coming here this next weekend. But, we are really looking forward to a time when we will be together for good ... forever. Thank you for your site and for bringing us together.
My husband and I met on here July 19th 2009, we spent three days of writing back and forth, and countless hours on messenger. I was on my way to see a friend off to college when he suggested that we go out for breakfast. I told him that was fine as long as he didn't mind me bringing a friend along. He said that was fine and we met for breakfast. We were shocked how well we hit it off, especially since we were both shy when it came to meeting new people. When I got home that afternoon he was waiting to talk to me online. We both knew that we had a feeling something was right and decided to start dating. A week later we ended up at the mall looking at rings. My father had left for a two week training class for the military and so respectively he waited. A few days after my father arrived home and they spent the afternoon together. Next thing I knew he took me to the restaurant by Multnomah Falls. After eating a wonderful dinner and listening to the water, we walked up the falls a short distance. He knelt down over looking the river and asked me to marry him. We have been married for a little over a month now and are grateful to LDSSingles, we never would have met without you!
Alex & Ashley
I got a flirt from a girl that lives about 400 miles away. I wasn't even thinking of looking that far away in my searches. We emailed back and forth a few times, but nothing really all that special. One day she was on and I decided to just chat with her instead of email her. We talked for about 5 hours that night. Every night that week we talked for at least 3 hours. The following week was fall break for me so I decided to give it a shot and so I drove up to boise the following weekend. We went on a couple of dates and ended up deciding we wanted to try a long distance relationship. About a month and a half later She came down to visit me for a weekend. We have still to this day talked for at least 3 hours every night when she gets off from work. After this weekend I knew she was the one. I flew up last weekend (without her knowing) and proposed to her. We're getting married in March.
We recently celebrated our first anniversary on October 8, 2009 and we are very grateful to have found each other through the LDS.singles site. It has been great to have a companion and find someone to share things with. We have been able to travel back and forth to get to know our new family together. You never realize how lonely it can be without someone to talk to. It has been much better to have someone special in our lives. We look forward to many more years ahead.
Thanks again for the opportunity to meet a special friend and the ability to add a new chapter to our lives .
To The One I Love
I joined LDSSingles because I was done dealing with people who said they were LDS and then found out that they didn't like it at all or that they were against most of the church teachings. So I joined this site and to my glee within the first 3 weeks I met Brian and now we can't keep away from each other! We have been talking about maybe getting married around January 2011, but for now I just love him!! :)
I was so skeptical at first, but how else are you going to meet people. Anyway after a few flirts and texting we agreed to meet. What was so nice is that we already had so much in common because of the profiles and matching. So it wasn't as scary as I thought and things went really smooth. I think it is one of the best ways to meet someone you never would have any other way. Way to go to who ever invented this one.
I got on here not too long ago and met a young lady. We started with her sending me a flirt. We began chatting. I asked her if she wanted to talk so we exchanged phone numbers and began to talk. We knew each other for about 6 weeks and decided to meet in person. We live in different states so I decided to take a road trip and go out and meet her. We had a great time, I stayed there for four days. She is coming out to meet me in a few weeks and things are going very well. We have spoken about taking it slow, but we both have the desire to pursue the possibility of marriage. I have fallen in love with her and I know she is the greatest women I have ever met. I do want to marry her and hopefully things keep going well. She's already becoming my best friend and she's just the greatest thing that's ever happened to me. Thanks LDSSingles.com. My experience has been wonderful. I have several friends who met their spouses here and are very happy together. Wish me continued luck and thanks again!
It all started with a "hi" sent to me by a really cute girl, stephipoo26. That simple beginning sparked a relationship that has just continued to grow and flourish. At first, we chatted and messaged each other through the website, until one fateful Sunday afternoon which we spent 5 hours of chatting before deciding to exchange phone numbers. We then spent another 3 hours talking to each other on the telephone.
Ever since that Sunday we have spent several hours every day talking to each other on the phone and growing closer together even though we are separated, for now, by 300 miles. Our relationship has continued to grow and we are now engaged to be married in the early spring of 2010. This site has been such a blessing for us as it allowed us to meet, which probably would not have happened otherwise.
I didn't think I was going find anyone on here, but on October 16th 2009 I sent a flirt to scorpioal. Well to my surprise he sent me one back the next day. Since that day we have been chatting and sending flirts. One Sunday after church we have been chatting online for about 5 hours, and then decided to exchange phone numbers, and so we ended up chatting on the phone for about 4 hours. Since then we have been talking on the phone, and I got a web-cam, so we can talk and see each other face to face. He is coming here December 26th - January 2nd to help me plan our wedding. We plan on getting married in the spring sometime. I am so glad I found the one that I am going to marry. He makes me so happy. Thank you for the site. I didn't think online dating works, but it does.
***Update as of 7/8/10***
Adam and I have been happily married for almost 3 months. We were married in the Jordan River Temple. There were a lot of family and friends to celebrate with us. With us doing a long distance engagement we had to make the decision on where to live. We went back and forth on if I should move to Utah, or if Adam should move to Las Vegas, but in the end we both decided that I would move to Utah. The engagement was a trial for us, because Adam was living in Utah, and I was living in Las Vegas. My family was not very supportive of us getting married in April, because they felt it it was to soon, but we always knew that it was the best decision, so we married in April. During the engagement we did whatever we could to see each other. I would fly and see him, and those were the best moments, but the worst moments was when I (or he) would have to leave. I never thought that I would have met such an amazing person on an LDS dating website, but I did, and we are very happy. We are now living in Murray UT in an apartment, and are enjoying the independence. One year ago I never thought of being married, but I am so happy. Every time I see Adam I smile, and there is not one day that goes by that we don't say "I love you". Thank you again for your website, and for bringing this wonderful man into my life.
I was certain I had spent my last Valentine's Day alone, so I joined. Month after month went by and no real success. I met a few interesting people on here. Then 2 and 1/2 weeks ago I sent a flirt to a special girl that responded and we hit it off. Things are looking on the up and up and crazy enough I found an awesome girl online. She was only on here one month. So I was looking a little longer, but she was worth the wait.
