Success Stories: 2009
I live in a smaller town and there are very few opportunities to date LDS women. I knew that if I were going to meet someone special to me with the same beliefs, that I was going to need to try something new. I reluctantly decided to try online dating and selected LDSSingles.com based upon reviews. Being able to read profiles helped to cement in my mind what I was searching for in an eternal companion. I know that I knew this already, but really thinking about it solidified those thoughts. There are a lot of interesting and friendly people on the site and in a very short time I met someone with whom I really connected. We've talked for a little while online (on the site) and then on the phone for about 3 weeks. I live in Texas, she lives in North Carolina. At that time I knew it was time to go there and meet her. We had a great time together and really felt comfortable with each other. I've been there a few times since and she is now coming here this next weekend. But, we are really looking forward to a time when we will be together for good ... forever. Thank you for your site and for bringing us together.
My husband and I met on here July 19th 2009, we spent three days of writing back and forth, and countless hours on messenger. I was on my way to see a friend off to college when he suggested that we go out for breakfast. I told him that was fine as long as he didn't mind me bringing a friend along. He said that was fine and we met for breakfast. We were shocked how well we hit it off, especially since we were both shy when it came to meeting new people. When I got home that afternoon he was waiting to talk to me online. We both knew that we had a feeling something was right and decided to start dating. A week later we ended up at the mall looking at rings. My father had left for a two week training class for the military and so respectively he waited. A few days after my father arrived home and they spent the afternoon together. Next thing I knew he took me to the restaurant by Multnomah Falls. After eating a wonderful dinner and listening to the water, we walked up the falls a short distance. He knelt down over looking the river and asked me to marry him. We have been married for a little over a month now and are grateful to LDSSingles, we never would have met without you!
Alex & Ashley
I got a flirt from a girl that lives about 400 miles away. I wasn't even thinking of looking that far away in my searches. We emailed back and forth a few times, but nothing really all that special. One day she was on and I decided to just chat with her instead of email her. We talked for about 5 hours that night. Every night that week we talked for at least 3 hours. The following week was fall break for me so I decided to give it a shot and so I drove up to boise the following weekend. We went on a couple of dates and ended up deciding we wanted to try a long distance relationship. About a month and a half later She came down to visit me for a weekend. We have still to this day talked for at least 3 hours every night when she gets off from work. After this weekend I knew she was the one. I flew up last weekend (without her knowing) and proposed to her. We're getting married in March.
We recently celebrated our first anniversary on October 8, 2009 and we are very grateful to have found each other through the LDS.singles site. It has been great to have a companion and find someone to share things with. We have been able to travel back and forth to get to know our new family together. You never realize how lonely it can be without someone to talk to. It has been much better to have someone special in our lives. We look forward to many more years ahead.
Thanks again for the opportunity to meet a special friend and the ability to add a new chapter to our lives .
I was so skeptical at first, but how else are you going to meet people. Anyway after a few flirts and texting we agreed to meet. What was so nice is that we already had so much in common because of the profiles and matching. So it wasn't as scary as I thought and things went really smooth. I think it is one of the best ways to meet someone you never would have any other way. Way to go to who ever invented this one.
To The One I Love
I joined LDSSingles because I was done dealing with people who said they were LDS and then found out that they didn't like it at all or that they were against most of the church teachings. So I joined this site and to my glee within the first 3 weeks I met Brian and now we can't keep away from each other! We have been talking about maybe getting married around January 2011, but for now I just love him!! :)
I got on here not too long ago and met a young lady. We started with her sending me a flirt. We began chatting. I asked her if she wanted to talk so we exchanged phone numbers and began to talk. We knew each other for about 6 weeks and decided to meet in person. We live in different states so I decided to take a road trip and go out and meet her. We had a great time, I stayed there for four days. She is coming out to meet me in a few weeks and things are going very well. We have spoken about taking it slow, but we both have the desire to pursue the possibility of marriage. I have fallen in love with her and I know she is the greatest women I have ever met. I do want to marry her and hopefully things keep going well. She's already becoming my best friend and she's just the greatest thing that's ever happened to me. Thanks LDSSingles.com. My experience has been wonderful. I have several friends who met their spouses here and are very happy together. Wish me continued luck and thanks again!
I was certain I had spent my last Valentine's Day alone, so I joined. Month after month went by and no real success. I met a few interesting people on here. Then 2 and 1/2 weeks ago I sent a flirt to a special girl that responded and we hit it off. Things are looking on the up and up and crazy enough I found an awesome girl online. She was only on here one month. So I was looking a little longer, but she was worth the wait.
I created my profile a long time ago, over a year. I've met a few interesting people, one of which is still one of my closest friends, but nothing more. I had even forgotten about it for a few months. Then I noticed the charge on my bank statement so I logged in to cancel the renewal. Well, while online I decided to see who else was online, just for the fun of it, and noticed Juli being online. Her photo caught my eye, so I looked at the profile. The thing that impressed me most about it is the fact that she had been through many life lessons and had a great perspective on life and mistakes and herself in general. So, I decided to write to her, just to tell her that I liked her profile and hoped that she kept the same perspective and hoped she found happiness in her life. I really didn't ask for or expect a reply.
To my surprise she did write back and said she'd like to learn more about me, so we set up a time to chat online. That lasted for several hours and we ended up on the phone for several more. We ended up with the decision to meet in person and have dinner and maybe catch a movie. We totally hit it off. It was a connection stronger than I've ever felt; Same with her. So we've been seeing each other as much as possible with my school (I'm back in school as a full-time student) and the fact she lives in North Ogden, but it's gone great. I even spent the weekend there with her and her kids, celebrating her son's tenth birthday with them and have been going to church with them. It's wonderful.
We read scriptures together, have deep conversations about many topics, say nightly prayers together, either in person or via phone, and I'm happier than I've ever been in a relationship in my life.
I've had my doubts about this website, about any online dating website...but I must say, I'm thankful that I signed up and thankful Juli signed up as well. Thank you for providing the means to bring us together. If we end up getting married, I'll let you know!!!
