Joel Reyes and Valerie Jackson were married and sealed on December 15, 2001
in Baton Rouge Louisiana in the House of the Lord. THANK YOU!
Joseph (jollygreen) and I (vbchick) just wanted to take this time to thank
you for your wonderful service. We know now how truly inspired by Heavenly
Father it really is! We will be married on April 21, 2001 and it's all
because of this site. Thanks so much for allowing singles in the church
have a wider selection than just their towns. Good luck to all of you and
never underestimate the power of inspiration!
With much gratitude,
Just wanted to write and let say many, many thanks to your services! A year
ago I signed on and I was lucky to have The Sandman write me. We talked for
a while via on LDSSO and the telephone. We met and that was it. We got
engaged in September of 2000 and will be getting sealed in the Las Vegas
Temple on July 14, 2001. Thank you and keep up the great work!
We were married on December 1, 2001, on a wonderfully rainy day at the beautiful Oakland Temple.
We first met on this website on July 5, 2001. Jimi had been on the website for about a year and a half after
receiving the address from some LDS friends at work. Hannah 10 (Mary) had been on the website for one
month (!) having received the website address from her sister-in-law after being bored to tears from just
going to "seventh-grade" dances.
We exchanged e-mails and, after Jimi had to go out of town for a few days, decided we might want to meet.
Jimi gave Mary all the information to contact her bishop, so that she would have nothing to fear.
Fortunately, Mary did not get the bishop when she called, but got the bishop's wife. She gave her the full
scoop on Jimi and was very kind, but all the bishop could tell him was that someone named Mary had
called about him!
At that point, Mary decided it was OK to meet at a dance. We both prepared prayerfully for the dance:
Mary prayed that the feeling that she was getting about him was a feeling that he was the one and Jimi
prayed that he would behave himself. When we finally met at the dance, it was a truly spiritual
experience. Jimi is a singer/songwriter and the first thing we did was find a piano and Jimi played a song
he had written, called "Spirit, Come". It is a song about the Holy Ghost and inviting Him to come. Jimi
felt it was an appropriate way to start the relationship.
We had a wonderful time and a whirlwind relationship ensued. We grew closer each day and made plans to
attend the General Conference in October, 2001. When we arrived, we had dinner and went to Temple
Square to see the sights and feel the Spirit (Mary had never been to Salt Lake). While we were sitting on
the benches next to the temple (at about 10:00pm), Mary said yes when Jimi got down on his knees and
humbly asked her to share eternity with him. He had already asked her entire family, as well as his
daughters, and had kept it a secret from her.
Seven weeks later we were married at the Oakland Temple. We are so very grateful for this incredible
website which is responsible for bringing us together. We feel that this is an inspired undertaking and a
blessed use of this technology. We are humbled that we found each other and could not have done it
without this website. It is our testimony that if you live righteously and use this website prayerfully that
you, too, can experience the blessings and joy that we have experienced. Please accept this testimony in
the name of our blessed Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen.
