Success Stories: 1999
Heavenly Father works in very mysterious ways. He put LDSSO on the
Internet for LDS singles to meet their eternal mates. Larry (Larry1)
and I (roughcampr) began corresponding through emails. There was a
break in emails for about two weeks and Larry had thought I had given up
on him. He decided to give it one more chance and try again. He was
truly inspired by Heavenly Father to do so. He knew that we were to be
married and were to be eternal mates. He had to do a lot of convincing
for me to believe it as well. I had no choice in the matter as there
were a lot of prayers said on our behalf. Larry flew me to Wyoming on
Labor Day weekend to meet him and I knew as soon as he held me in his
arms that he was the one for me. We had a few stumbling blocks before
he took me home to Salt Lake on Labor Day, but the stumbling blocks were
there for a reason.....so that we would know that we really truly were
intended for each other as eternal mates. We were married in Salt Lake
on September 7, 1999, after a whirlwind courtship/engagement. We are
going to be sealed for eternity within the year. A lot of people think
we are nuts for being married so quickly, but we both knew in our hearts
and minds that it was the right thing to do and that we weren't supposed
to wait. For all of you who are discouraged, please do not give up
hope. Heavenly Father has a mate out there for each and every one.
Remember to include your search for your eternal mate in your daily
prayers. (We did.) Also, please, please do not wait for that
"chemistry" to take place before you decide to meet or write someone.
There was no "chemistry" at all between us at first, but it certainly
got there in short order. Trust and have faith in Heavenly Father and
he will not lead you astray. Thank you LDSSO.
Thanks so much for your service. I have used LDSSingles off and on over
the 3 years I was dating. As a single parent working a full-time job -
with all women mind you - I knew it would be challenging to find
someone. Despite some frustrations with dating, I just had a feeling
that I'd meet my husband On-line - not that I was going around
announcing that to anyone.
Trent and I met in January, 1 month following his baptism. Our first
date was pretty amazing for both of us - we both had this feeling that
we'd known each other a lot longer than just a few days of e-mailing and
phone calling. He is a wonderful man. He had never been married
although he'd come close a couple of times and had no children. He had
made some needed changes in his life that prepared him to accept the
gospel - good thing since I was adamant about dating only temple worthy
men! I have never met anyone with such a big heart. He has accepted my
two children as his own and adores them. Many people ask him about
being an instant father. I think they expect a negative response. He
said - and I heard this when he shared it with the entire ward at our
last Fast & Testimony Meeting - that he loves being a dad - that it
along with being my husband - is the best thing that has ever happened
to him. Now - of course, I'm quite the catch myself ;D - but, still,
I'm often in awe that I finally found someone who can love so deeply and
truly - both me and my precious children. There are many of you who
could take a lesson from this.
We married on July 17, 1999. Spent 8 days in the West Indies at a
wonderful Sandals Resort in Antigua and now we're in the process of
building a beautiful home that we'll move into in February. We're most
looking forward to our sealing date in December - one year from the date
that Trent was baptized.
I've got a wonderful husband, a son, a daughter, a family dog (formerly
his) and a family cat (formerly mine). It's all so perfect - and it's
pretty wonderful being in awe of your own life.
It's definitely possible!

:o) I know this is a ways off yet, but Lynn and I (Flora and Twelves)
are letting our service expire on LDSSO because we are very happy
together and plan on being married next summer when I am finished with
school. We've both made a lot of friends on here and we will miss
hanging around chat with you guys and gals. Sappy as it may sound, I
was really bummed one day lst February and punched LDS into the browser
just to see what it would bring up. I immediately focused on LDSSO and,
well, I believe I was prompted to sign up immediately. I wrote to about
a dozen ladies (no, my chat name has nothing to do with that) that day.
A couple wrote back but there was no spark. Then Lynn wrote and we
corresponded for a week and a half before we hooked up on chat. After
another week or so we supplemented our chat time and e-mail with phone
calls. Due to our schedules, it was three months before we met in
person but since then we have seen each other two more times and talk on
the phone every day. "Thank You" is insufficient to express the joy
that you've brought into our lives but it's the only thing I can think
of to say. Good luck to everyone on LDSSO. Thanks again, and take care.
Were getting married!!!! You guys are awesome.. Good luck everyone
else.. Ha Ha!!!
Whoever set up this service oughtta get a medal. We
met last Spring, and are planning on getting married
next Summer. We've made lots of great friends on the
service, and it has been tons of fun. But please
don't send us any more of those e-mailed profile
notifications. We're kinda happy with each other's
profile--especially when the angle is good and the
light is just right... *wink* :o)
Please remove my profile from your service. I guess I'm another succes
story for you since I met the man for me through ldsso. Thanks!
I would like to take this time to once again, thank LDSSO and staff for allowing all of us singles to have this
avenue to meet persons which have, the same and similar goals. I have had the Unique chance to meet some
wonderful men and women, and Tracy has had the same chance. We both know that without this avenue we
would not of met. When we met it was so uncanney how similar are thoughts were, we could complete each
others thoughts we soon discovered...First I read his short profile and with a user name like "Needs a Hug"
it was very hard not to send him a message, so imagine my surprise when I was in chat right after that and I
noticed his name tjclip and about the same time he was sending me a Private Message to say hello and he had
gotten my e-mail, well we visited and got to know one another and met in chat alot, eventually the feelings
became so strong that we knew that it was time to talk over the phone, We both very quickly knew that we
had the special bond and decided that we needed to meet and make sure that this was not in our minds...
Tracy first came to Texas at the end of August.. I thought that I had literally died and gone to Heaven All,
HE is everything that my Heart has desired and dreamed of my entire life... Firstly his spirit and then his
tenderness, understanding, warmth and honesty and lastly but certainly not least important...The chemistry
that had been there was very much indeed real...Before the weekend was out Tracy and I knew that we
wanted to be married however there were several things to work out, first off Tracy has 6 children and he
lives in Arizona and I have one teenager and I live here in Texas..
We had already decided that I would travel to Mesa for the Labor Day Weekend and give the children and I
a chance to meet and see if we could all fit....It was beyond my dreams again, they were all so loving, and I
can not leave out that this was in part to their mother's openness with them that she was willing for them to
open up to me if they felt inclined to do so... We had a marvelous weekend and before I left on that Tuesday
we set a Wedding Date and Tracy and I are joining our families on the 7th of October in Mesa.... There will
be many trials that we will encounter along lifes way, however, we know that with prayer and living the
principals of the Gospel we will be able to endure together... I am at home with my best friend and soul
mate... I had always heard of people that said they found their soul mates and now I do know what they
mean, I am not complete without Tracy and know that he feels the same way...If there is one thing that I can
say to someone that is looking and unsure if this the a good way to find someone, let me just say this... You
must have faith, be reserved, rely on your instincts, be willing to communicate with someone openly....
Kindness is appreciated in people and not everyone that we meet or communicate with will be that Special
Person that we are in search of...However, that one kind word that you might say to another just might be
the difference in someone's day...and it did not cost you anything to be Kind in return.... I, of course can only
speak for myself but I will add that without some of the Gracious Men that I have had the Great Honor to
converse with I would not have grown in the Gospel to the Degree that I know that I have today... I hope
that both Tracy and I can continue to share with others out there and be an encouragement to Singles that
have gone through such trials and find within themselves such fear and doubt that you can't bring yourself
to believe that you will ever find that right person..... When you can you will......Trust and Believe..... in
Heavenly Father's Plan for ALL OF US...... REMEMBER: Love is a Gift that we can Give Ourselves....... This is
the Texas Princess and TJClip signing off and saying we thank you LDSSO for this service.... and God's
speed to all of you out there
Your service worked!!! and I am engaged to be married in just 4 1/2 weeks.
Thank you so very much. Your service is heaven scent....no doubt about it.
